Who will lead South Africa into the future? This million-dollar question will be answered at a major convention of Tomorrow’s Leaders™ at Sandton Convention Centre in Gauteng in March. This is the second annual Tomorrow’s Leaders™ Convention, following the highly successful inaugural event in June this year. The Convention focuses attention on young managers destined to lead their companies in the near future – people who aim for the top and are almost certain to get there. The event attracts young leaders who demonstrate capability, integrity and imagination within their organisations and who are earmarked for senior positions within the next 3 to 4 years. The Convention will take place over a single day and will address key Leadership Issues facing Tomorrow’s leaders. It will also elicit sector-specific and general views on the critical challenges most likely to influence South Africa’s corporate environment in the future. Future young leaders attending the event will be guests of Leadership Magazine and the Convention will comprise a number of sector-specific Summits, guided by facilitators from the University of Johannesburg, Business Unity South Africa (BUSA) and sector leaders from a multitude of business organisations across the country. Nominations are now open for this highly regarded event on South Africa’s business calendar and corporate and other organisations are invited to submit candidates to participate in the Convention. The fact that candidates will attend as guests of Leadership Magazine means there will be no cost to the organisations they represent. Participants will debate and propose solutions to some of the most pressing issues facing South Africa today. These include the King III Report, sustainable economic prosperity, good governance, social responsibility and environmental sustainability. The Convention will also deal with major issues specific to the particular sectors the participants are drawn from. On a lighter note, the Convention will also feature a Glamour Evening, hosted by Lexus and featuring artists from the Cape Town International Jazz Festival. The organisers believe the event will become a highlight on Gauteng’s already glitzy social calendar. Another feature of the Convention will be a major fashion show, hosted by Foschini, and the Tomorrow’s Leaders™ Leadership Lifestyle Exhibition, which will showcase a range of “must haves” for tomorrow’s leaders, including luxury vehicles, top-end stationary, jewelry, fashion, the very latest technology, holiday resorts, sports equipment, health and well-being products and many more. The Convention takes place on the 10th of March 2009 and is set to identify a huge array of young leaders certain to make their mark for generations to come.
