Arab revolt
Arab revoltEuropean solidarity and NATO hegemony threatened

Global power shift
Global power shiftMilitary dominance follows economic power - again

Throughout history a pattern has been established in which major shifts in economic power are followed by, or go hand-in-hand with, shifts in military power and/or  dominance. Developments following in the wake of the sex-scandal that has engulfed the International Monetary Fund managing director underline that the world is presently again experiencing such a ground-shift.

IMF turmoilMore of the same amidst conspiracy claims

Maybe his plans to move the International Monetary Fund (IMF) away from dominance by Europe and America did contribute to Dominique Strauss-Kahn’s fall from grace, as the punters of conspiracy theories claim, or maybe it did not. What is clear however is that Europe is not about to let go of its hold since 1945 on The World’s Banker.

Elections wrap-upNot the end of the story for municipalities

The municipal elections have come and gone, and as the election dust settles municipalities across the country will be heaving a sigh of relief hoping for a return to business as usual. Super Rugby watch
Super Rugby watchHeroes from adversity

Crucified and humiliated by the rugby critics for their inability to demonstrate composure under pressure and to showcase their fighting abilities after the disappointing defeat to the Chiefs, the Stormers’s answer was swift and convincing.
In a fight back chillingly reminiscent of the one that was staged by the Chiefs after the break when they trailed 3-20, the Stormers bounced back in similar fashion,  erasing a 3-19 deficit and racing to a 28-26 win against the Blues.
