Freight into Africa – South Conference

Africa Incorporated: Transport Networks, Regional Integration, Infrastructure Development, Trade & Investment

Roads, bridges, rail lines, ports, and airports deliver economic and social benefits by connecting firms to international and regional markets. But transport infrastructure is not cheap.

And to attract investment the highways, railways and ports must be well planned, regularly maintained for life.

The aim of the FIA series of conferences in the South and East regions of Africa is to highlight initiatives, projects and the role of the regions in the continent’s development through effective transport solutions.

However the focus of each conference is not exclusive to or restricted to the specific region. It is through the cooperation and integration of the Regional Economic Communities (REC’s) that Africa will move forward. Hence the focus is on a broad and integrated conclusion to ensure sustainable economic development.

Sustainable development will be reached by promoting cooperation between countries, governments and the private sector. By supporting harmonisation of transport in the SADC region.
